Digital Dementia Observation System (DOS) & EHR Integration

Project Overview

The Digital Dementia Observation System (DOS) is an enterprise healthcare web platform engineered to automate and optimize behavioral data logging and clinical monitoring for senior care and dementia patients. Integrated directly with PointClickCare (PCC) Electronic Health Records (EHR) via 3-Legged OAuth2 REST APIs, the system bridges the gap between daily caregiver observations and physician diagnostic workflows.

Problem Statement

Traditional dementia observation in long-term care facilities relied heavily on manual paper-based logging:

- Delayed Clinical Action: Physical observation sheets delayed physician reviews and care plan adjustments.

- Data Disconnect: Behavioral trends over 7-to-14 day cycles were hard to visualize and synthesize.

- EHR Sync Overhead: Re-entering patient demographics into EHR systems created compliance risks and duplicate effort.
